Update for Newman

Update for Newman

Dear Newman sponsors,

I hope this month’s update finds you warm and dry and in a safe place. For those of us in the Northeast U.S., our days have been divided into pre-Sandy and post-Sandy eras. The lives of some will never be the same. My heart goes out to all of those affected by Sandy, and I pray that you are on a healing path.

On the Tabby’s Place home front, all was well until the water pump ceased to pump, and water no longer flowed. It is nearly impossible to care for 100+ cats with no running water, yet we did. Thanks to the super staff and volunteers who go the extra mile to take care of all our babies!

I can tell you that pre-Sandy Newman was a happy-go-lucky guy. During my visit, Newman was happily sharing his space with Nuttin, even though Nuttin probably didn’t share his enthusiasm. But, sometimes tolerance is more important than personal happiness for the sake of peace in one’s little corner of the world at Tabby’s Place.

Our Newman is a spunky little guy, as this picture shows. He is such a love, and sometimes he goes after it and screams me, me, me!!! He is such a sweetheart, but at times, his affection makes it a challenge to take his photograph!

Sweet Newman is enjoying a month with no medical news – but lots and lots of love. Time and again, our black-and-white Romeo makes it his mission to steal the show from other cats. Our Development Director noted that she’s recently had the pleasure of bringing various sponsors into Suite FIV to meet their sponsored kitties. Newman, however, never received the memo that anyone sponsors any cat other than Newman. When she brought in a couple of Dillinger‘s sponsors, Newman was all over them. When she brought in a Nuttin sponsor, Newman attached himself to her. When she brought in Edward‘s new sponsor, Newman practically launched across the room, rocket-style, to wrap himself around her legs. Newman has a singular mission to make himself everyone’s favorite feline. Here’s hoping our ultra-friendly love bug finds his very own human soon.

As always, thank you for loving our dear Newman and for supporting each and every one of his wants and needs while he awaits his special someone.
Until next month, be well and stay warm!
