Update for Mona

Hello dear sponsors,

Welcome to Tabby’s Place, the FIV+ Suite, and my life. With the help of my correspondents, Sandi and Don , I will be giving you monthly updates on my life and adventures at the sanctuary.

I love being in the FIV+ suite. It certainly is better than living on the street! I am the only female cat in the suite, but I am following in the footsteps of many strong and fabulous females who have lived here, such as Nicky, Penelope, and Fern.

To tell you the truth, I have been feeling a bit nervous and shy. Slowly, I am beginning to understand that being at Tabby’s can be a very pleasant experience. But I still sometimes run away when people come near me.

When I first arrived at Tabby’s, I became very friendly with a beautiful cat named Gus and we spent a lot of time together. He was adopted recently. I miss him, but I am so very happy that he found a forever home. Maybe I’ll be next.

During these summer months, I have especially enjoyed resting in the solarium. I love the sunshine and watching the butterflies circle Cherny’s Garden. I am becoming more accustomed to people visiting, and sometimes I even let them pet me gently on my head. Also, I’ve recently found a new friend, Dilly (Dillinger), and we sometimes sit together. Like me, he is shy, and so we understand each other. I think that he likes me, and I like him too.

I am feeling well, and have no current health issues.

I hope that you will someday visit me at Tabby’s Place. The fall is a beautiful time in the solarium, and we can watch the butterflies together. And, in fact, I’d like to invite you
to Catoberfest on Saturday, October 6th at Tabby’s Place. The big day includes a silent auction, book signing by Gwen Cooper (author of Homer’s Odyssey), live music and all kinds of lectures and goodies. My suitemates and I would love to see you, and you can click here for more information about the event. In case you can’t join us in person, you can start bidding in our online silent auction this Monday (9/17) by clicking here. Every penny raised will help care for us kitties.

Thanks for becoming my sponsor,
Xooxoxooxox,
Mona (or as I like to be called, “Marvelous Mona”)
