Update for Mona

Hello my dear sponsor,

Well, it really feels like summer now: hot, sticky, and humid. While this kind of weather bothers many folks, it is fine by me and my friends, as we “live it up” in the FIV+ solarium. The heat seems to make everyone mellow and move slowly.

Luckily, everyone’s health in the suite has been stable this month. One day, even the people were chilling out, as Tabby’s Place hosted a Cat Yoga Class in our lobby. We were able to watch through our windows in the suite. Everyone was trying to stretch like a cat! Imagine that.

This time last month, we were preparing to welcome a new female feline roommate from Louisiana, but it turned out that she was FIV negative. (She was also speedily adopted!) So, Rogue and I are still the only girls in our suite.

Also of note is the annual Linda Fund Matching Challenge. Through Aug 10th, any donations that go to this Fund will be matched to help Tabby’s Place continue funding emergency and the specialty care of the most needy cats. If you know anyone who might be interested in helping Tabby’s Place, they can go to www.tabbysplace.org. More dollars mean more medical care for the cats, especially those of us with special health issues.I truly appreciate how well the folks at Tabby’s Place take care of me and all the cats here. A lot of this daily work takes place behind the scenes. However, earlier this month, I got a glimpse of one important aspect of this effort–laundry! As it happened, the dryer here broke down, and was out of commission for several days. In the meantime, the towels and other laundry needed to be dried…and so it had to be done the old fashioned way. For several days, from my perch in the solarium, I had the rare opportunity of watching many multi-colored sheets and towels, hung out to dry, moving slowly in the breeze. Here’s a picture of this impressive scene.

How are you spending your summer? I hope that you are well happy and peaceful.

As always, thank you so much for helping me have the best life ever.
