Update for Mary

Welcome to February, my sweet sponsors!

I invite you to be my valentine during this traditional month of love. I wish I could craft a

homemade valentine to send to you, but please know that I am loving you dearly from here in my cozy bed.

The temperatures here in New Jersey have risen to more typical

winter numbers, and my suitemates who enjoy the outdoors have been happy to have free access to the solarium again. As for me,

especially in cold weather, you can always find me indoors playing happily or napping with all of my might.

In case I haven’t mentioned it, I take my naps VERY seriously, and even if a visitor arrives to give me love, I tend to stay mostly in

nap mode. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the affection and I will happily receive it, I just tend to stay in my current napping position

without feeling any need to get up. Why should I? All the lovely humans here love me as I am, and they will gladly join me in whatever

corner I’m snuggled into so they can pet me while I continue to snooze. I’m just that lucky here at Tabby’s Place!

The pictures I’m attaching to this month’s update are a perfect example of what I’m describing. When my correspondent who helps me

write my updates came to take pictures the other day, I was cuddled up on a fuzzy bed in a darker, warmer corner of my suite that’s

closer to the floor, instead of in my typical napping beds high up on the ramp that leads outside. She was more than happy to scrunch

down into where I was to give me love and affection on my terms, and I adored every pet and every moment of attention. One picture

shows my sleepy face as I gazed up at her from my napping location. The other made her giggle because I actually stretched out my paw

and held her hand as she spoke quietly to me about how beautiful I am and how much she loves me. We had quite a moment!

But of course I quickly went back to my mirthful self once I was done napping, as I always do. I am told I give the volunteers and

staff here a lot of joy as they walk by and watch my antics through the window between my suite and the hallway. Folks often

comment on and giggle at my delightful frolicking as I play with toys or simply nothing at all when I have bursts of joyous energy. Our

Development Director’s office is near my suite’s window into the hallway, and she has told me I quite possibly garner the most reactions

from passers-by. I am honored!

I hope you watched the Kitten Bowl along with (or instead of) the Super Bowl this year. I hear it was ridiculously cute and fun as

always, and all of the kitty athletes got adopted into “furever” homes. I’ve also heard that a few of the other cats here might organize a

Kitten Bowl viewing party next year to raise money for Tabby’s Place. I will volunteer to romp and play as part of the half-time show

entertainment!

My only medical news to report this month is that I’ve been leaking a bit of stool unfortunately, which happens from time to time, but the staff

here is monitoring me closely and will intervene with treatment if necessary.

Enjoy your Valentine’s Day celebration of love however your heart desires. As always, I thank you from the bottom of my loving heart for

your generous support as my sponsor!

All my love,

Mary
