Update for Mary

A sunny, happy June to you, my beloved sponsors!

The unofficial and official start of summer is finally upon us and I couldn’t be more joyful. Well, since you know me, you understand that my levels of joyfulness are impossible to measure. They are truly off the charts at any given moment! Why not approach life with spontaneous joy? Each day, I make the choice to do just that. And both humans and my suitemates flock to me because of it.

I even let my scribe give me a quick belly rub on one of her visits this month. From what I know, most kitties have to be quite calm and trusting to allow humans to rub their bellies. Well apparently, on that particular day, I was up for it and she even got a picture to prove it!

She also photographed me playing with one of my favorite toys. I can’t get enough of batting those little balls around that circular track with my paws. I lie on the floor next to it so I can get both my front paws in on the action, and I just go at it with all my little grey furry energy! It’s super spectacular fun! My eyes get all wide and focused on catching those balls as they whirl around and around. After all that action, I need one of my serious power naps! Of course, there’s always a cozy bed nearby for me to snuggle up in and crash out.

So this month, we had a bit of a feeding mishap in our suite. We were mistakenly fed non-prescription food one afternoon (our volunteers do their best but sometimes humans make mistakes… cats NEVER do!).

Since my delicate system is somewhat prone to diarrhea to begin with, I did have a bout of it from eating the wrong food. But my super heroine vet team treated me immediately with medication, and I am all better now. I also received additional treatment for conjunctivitis this month, which I handled like the champ-ette that I am. I’m told that I’m quite possibly the most unsinkably happy-go-lucky cat at Tabby’s Place. Such adoration is lovely, and I adore my humans right back!

In other news, we have our 5th Annual Kitten Shower and Adoption Event coming up this month. We are tail-deep in kittens this time of year here at Tabby’s Place, and our Kitten Shower is a wonderful day. Folks are invited to bring a donation “shower gift” of supplies like litter or food, and the adoption fee for a kitten is reduced to $50. We get lots of visitors who take tours of our entire facility, so I’m looking forward to all of that extra attention!

We also had our annual memorial service in Cherny’s Garden to say goodbye to the kitties and human volunteers we lost this past year. I watched the service from my solarium, and it was a beautiful ceremony as always. It’s truly amazing to witness all the love that goes into our kitty and human family here, and I’m inexplicably grateful to be a part of it.

All thanks to you! Thank you for your generosity as always, and please know that I am sending you lots of love and fluffy hugs! Until next month, my dears….
