Update for Luna

Luna on patrol!

Dear Team Luna,

Can it really be mid-July already?  I don’t know about you, but this whole pre-Covid, Covid, and post-Covid thing has really warped my sense of time!  It’s a good thing we have someone as steady as Luna around to keep order and see that every Tabby’s Place activity is completed in a timely fashion.  Ever stalwart in her duties, ever employing her keen feline eye for detail, our precious little lab assistant is the precision clock by which we all set our watches.  Spot her on patrol through the hospital and the lab and you know it’s time for serious work.  It’s time for everyone—staff, volunteers, and visitors alike —to get down to business!

Can a cat really look over your shoulder?  Well, certainly, Luna does at every opportunity.  She doesn’t miss a trick.  For example, she’s keeping a close watch on the many new volunteers-in-training who have joined us.  With the new wing, Quinn’s Corner, soon to come on line as a full-fledged operational facility, there will be a tremendous amount of additional volunteer assistance needed.  We invite you to join in! Sign up for one of the many available shifts that will need to be covered and get the training you may need to get up to speed! Luna loves each and every one of her sponsors and would be thrilled to have you with us as Tabby’s Place and Quinn’s Corner continue to serve more desperate cats in need.

Now for our lovely lab assistant’s personal monthly medical report:

Luna had ear cytology run this month and the results showed no sign of infection. For a gal with such allergy issues, this was really wonderful news. No itching, no scratching—just clear sailing for Luna! And her face, as you can see in her lovely photographs, remains clear and itch-free as well.  The veterinary staff is also taking steps to wean her off of her behavior medication in hopes that it helps to resolve some of the periodic GI issues that she has.  Can you believe it?  Perhaps one of our most challenging cases medically in the history of our organization, Luna is now a poster kitty for good health!

Pretty face!

Luna’s story really is a testament to the wonderful work we are able to do for cats here at Tabby’s Place!  Miserable and dispirited when she arrived at our doorstep, Luna has thrived and grown well here with your generous care.  Frankly, hers is a miraculous story of incredible recovery against seemingly impossible odds. That she can now enjoy her life, provide exceptional guidance to the staff, and provide doting attention to all of the cats who have followed in her footsteps is one of our greatest success stories. We have learned so much from Luna that has proven invaluable in reaching out to other cats and kittens in need.

I can’t say it enough: Your kindness and generosity mean so much to Luna.  Not only have you helped make her well, your thoughtful donations made regularly on her behalf allow her to fulfill her mission of serving other cats.  Be it during surgery, sitting vigil at their bedside, or reviewing their charts, Luna (with Angelo close by) lives to experience other felines becoming their healthiest and best selves. Thank you! She knows in her heart, that she simply couldn’t do it without you.
