Update for Lester

Dear friends,

Things can change on a dime in the FIV+ Suite. Wilson, who was recently adopted, has been returned to Tabby’s Place. He’s not a fan of other cats (I can generally relate) and is now looking for a forever home where he can be the solo cat. So far, he’s readjusting well. Topache, another human-loving, cat-hating feline, was adopted. You can’t see it, but I’m doing my happy dance right now.

Speaking of changes, Tabby’s Place had to make the tough but necessary decision to close to the public and allow only a small staff to keep things going. While I miss all my people, the staff has been working hard to keep us all safe and entertained. My correspondent couldn’t visit me in person this month, so we set up a Zoom video session. I hear it’s all the craze!

Without all my people to shower me with attention, I have turned to my old friend Toby for companionship. I think he’s trying to fill Shea’s old shoes by befriending and comforting the FIV+ crew. Toby has even been spending time with Rufus and the two are getting along well.

I heard a rumor recently that the lovely Tabby’s Place staff considers me a perfect “training” cat. I’m not the easiest cat to restrain during the monthly nail trimming (by “not the easiest,” I mean an absolute nightmare). I’m very strong and, to show my dissatisfaction and freak people out, I make some pretty frightening sounds. When a staff member can safely restrain me for the nail trimming, they have crossed a milestone. See? I knew I was perfect for something.

In these strangely unsettled times, I’m reminded of the ongoing sacrifices you make and all the support you’ve provided. Thank you for everything you do for me and for Tabby’s Place. It’s people like you that keep us all going during these challenging times.

Wishing you health, safety and all the love in the world.

Love,
Lester
