First off, let’s start with some happy news – Django and Broomhilda were adopted, followed by little Neva and Keely.
Kitties going off to wonderful forever homes is always a wonderful thing, though I don’t think anyone’s happiness quite compares to Peachy’s relief. After “graduating” from the kitten room, Neva and Keely were spending time in the Community Room…the full-time abode of our 16-year-old flame-point Siamese. To say Peachy was put off by the kittens’ arrival would be an understatement. There were times she actually sought out the kittens just to yell at them. So, hooray for their adoptions!
That leaves Mei Li and Mayberry (pictured at right) un-spoken-for, with Chase and Chooch on hold pending their FIV re-test. As these cuties move on, and, as it usually happens this time of year, we have many newcomers! So, let’s get to introductions…
At the moment, Ebony and Arya are being kindly fostered by Tabby’s Place volunteers to help them become socialized. Alas, the “soup kittens,” who were trapped at the prison where we continue our TNR work, have ringworm. They also seem to have some pretty formidable tummy troubles. We are monitoring them closely and loving them like crazy, and they’ve begun to improve thanks to subcutaneous fluid therapy and medication.
As always, kind sponsors, we thank you for your continued support. Through the ups and downs, adoptions and intakes, sickness and heath of our kittens, we are able to provide our littlest residents with all the love, time and care they need. We are able to do this because of your continued generosity and support. Thank you, so very much.
PS: Our kittens’ regular correspondent, Karin, will be back to bring you our babies’ news next month.
