Dear Kitten Fund friends,

What a difference a month makes!

A month ago, I wrote yet another post about the dearth of kittens at Tabby’s Place. A few hours after that, I stopped by to visit my furry friends, and found out that quite literally, as I was writing to you, not one, but two litters had arrived, along with a little one flying solo. If Tabby’s Place had presses to stop, that would have been the perfect occasion!

In a few short weeks, we’ve gone from zero kittens to over thirty. Our first arrival was Petra (pictured below), a tiny ball of solid black fluff. Since then, the littles have been launching our way fast and furious. We’re fortunate in that a number of these niblets came along with their nursing mamas, some of whom are also quite friendly.

Sadly, the season’s inevitable sorrows also started swiftly. Despite our vet team’s heroic efforts, we were not able to save tiny orange O, a kitten born with a cleft palate (and, most likely, other congenital issues inside). Little Clarissa also passed away.

But, the triumphs abound. Mama Margaret’s babies, Ryder, Zuma, Chase, and Rubble, arrived mere hours after being born, cold and still attached to their umbilical cords, and our amazing team was able to revive them all. They’re growing up happily now, with their difficult first day of life a distant memory. That’s Rubble pictured above.

Over the last month, we have acquired an average of nearly a kitten a day. It’s a bit staggering to have so many little ones arrive so quickly, but thanks to your support, we’re able to give each and every one the very best care possible. Thank you so very, very much. Here’s to the next few weeks and more new little friends!
