Armand just might be the world’s most perfect kitten, except for one minor detail: he will not eat. Even though he’s about six weeks old now, our tiniest tabby refuses to eat “real” food. His foster mom continues syringe-feeding him, and we trust that little Armand will soon get with the program.
In the meantime, you can see at right why he is just so awesome. His sleeping position was described to me as “caterpillar style”, but to me, it’s just stinkin’ cute! What a doll.
The Kitten Room is down to just a few timid teenagers at this point, as Whitney, Whoopie, Chinchilla and Ferret await their forever homes. Our volunteers are gently socializing this little quartet, and we’re seeing wonderful progress with Whitney and Whoopie (who is pictured below).
While I did just say that we’ve only got a handful of teenagers on hand, you and I both know that is not going to stay the case for long. Just the other day, I was dropping off a load of white towels that had been donated for us to use in our hospital, and as I started to tell Danielle, “I left a bunch of white…” she interjected with, “Just don’t say kittens!” I can only imagine how painfully cute an entire load of white kittens would be, but it can be hard to see the cuteness deep in the throes of Kitten Season.
We’re not quite in the throes yet — we’re still in the groundswell stage. We’ve got 16 little bitties being cared for at this point (more on them next month), which isn’t yet overwhelming, but we all know it’s coming! So let us say a heartfelt thank you now, before we’re completely inundated. Because of the support you give us, we’re able to go into Kitten Season knowing that we can give every single little one a loving, caring home and the very best start in life that we can offer. Buckle up, folks, because this year’s ride has just begun!
