Our kitten population may be a bit smaller, but what they lack in numbers they more than make up in fabulosity. As we bid a happy farewell to the recently-adopted Converse and Timberland, their sisters Reebok and Nike (pictured below) frolic through our Community Room, together with Muppet-like brothers Kanye and Biggie. These little ones were all found locally.
Their “city cousins,” Bandi and Elsie, came to us from an auto salvage yard in Philadelphia. Tabby-and-white Elsie and Bandi are almost unspeakably cute — and very fortunate. That salvage yard was a dangerous place for frisky kittens, as poor Elsie discovered personally. Some dreadful trauma broke Elsie’s right hind femur, and she came to us in desperate need of surgery. Fortunately, both girls are as sweet as pie and now doing beautifully.
It may not be Kitten Season anymore, but for all practical purposes, around here, ‘Tis the Season at all times! Just this past week, tiny little Aloysius arrived, emaciated, cold, and with a blood glucose reading that was terrifically low. He needed some intensive TLC, and this blessed little boy ended up in just the right place. After receiving emergency heat support and glucose to bring his blood values up to normal, he rebounded quite nicely and is progressing through his quarantine period, as you can see above.
And just in case saving yet another adorable little kitten wasn’t enough of a holiday gift for you, the late-breaking news of the month is that timid darlings Banana and Taz are being adopted together by a lovely, gentle soul. Just think, these two boys, afraid and feral not so long ago, will be in their forever home for the holidays. What a fitting celebration for us kitten lovers!
Thank you, dear sponsors, for your generous support of our kittens. Thanks to you, we can give the gifts of joy, health, and life to our littlest cats all year long. I hope you have a well-deserved, wonderful holiday season!
