Update for Kitten Fund

Dear Kitten Fund friends,

It’s getting to be that time of year when we start a reckoning of our accomplishments: what we’ve done well, what we’d like to have the chance to try again, and, of course, the ever-important question of How Many Kittens? Just a few short weeks from 2016, and we can’t answer the question of how many kittens we came to know this year, and here’s why:

Deep in December, we’re still ankle-deep in kittens. In addition to little “leftovers” Yuri, Pasha, Amy, Michele, Flux and Clara, we’ve recently welcomed orange tabby brothers Jerry & Kramer; “brothers from different mothers” Vanilla and Chocolate; sisters Holly and Eliza; siblings Cricket and Weevil; and Special Needs sweeties Sandy and Tortini. Please bear in mind it is December. Kitten Season has apparently lost all respect for the calendar.

Most of these wee ones are doing fabulously, though we’re admittedly concerned about little Vanilla (pictured below left). This gentle guy is stubbornly “refusing” to gain weight. At four months old, he’s still under two pounds, but as yet our vet has not been able to find anything seriously wrong. Meanwhile, Tortini is recovering from a broken leg, and we’re continuing to run tests on little Sandy to determine whether or not he has a rare endocrine condition. These little guys have landed in the right place, haven’t they? No matter what comes their way, we will give them the very best of care, and lots of loving to boot. (And of course, you know, “we” includes you!)

And speaking of a kitten who only gets the very best…one of our very special kittens has graduated from the Kitten Fund and is now sponsorable in her own right – Princess Bubblegum! It was just last month we were getting to know this treasure (pictured above), and now she’s moved on. *sniff* They grow up so fast!

Dear sponsors, thank you so much for your generosity through the year. I’ll work on pinning down the kitten stats for 2015, but in the meantime, please know that all of us, human and feline, are so very grateful for your support. We hope you have a blessed holiday season!
