Update for Jackie

Happy June, dear sponsors!

It’s becoming a happy cliche to hear Jackie referred to as a “rock star.” Despite the bad news of her cancer spreading to a lymph node, she’s had a triumphant month!

Our vet team removed the cancerous mass, and they report that Jackie recovered from anesthesia quickly, demanding food right away. She’s since had her sutures removed, and we’ve started her on a new chemotherapy protocol. As usual, she’s handling it marvelously.

Visits with Jackie have been wonderful as well! They have been our usual mix of purr-filled love fests, all the way to swatting sessions with growling!

Last week, Jackie was sauntering over to her chaise lounge so I decided to sneak in a few pets. She surprised me by purring! The purring became louder and more frequent! Then she appeared to be rubbing her cheeks on the chaise! How adorable this was!

That is, until I shifted my weight to get a better look. Jackie was actually pushing her nose underneath the chaise lounge and eating someone’s leftover breakfast! The purrs were for the delicious food, not for me. You could imagine my disappointment. Never a dull moment with our rockstar!

Jackie asked that I share something special with you this month. On Saturday, June 16th, Tabby’s Place will be hosting our 5th Annual Kitten Shower, from noon to 4 PM. If you bring a donation, you will be entered into a raffle for a gift basket. The gift baskets/prizes were generously donated by local businesses and can be seen on our Facebook page.

Jackie urges you to come visit, bring a donation, enjoy a tour of the facility, and maybe even adopt a kitten. At the very least, you could meet our rockstar, Jackie! Hope to see you there!
