Update for Hips

Update for Hips

I am ‘Assistant to the Volunteers’ during cleaning. I get to enjoy a free ride on the cart, too!
Event set up is an important part of my job!

Hips’ Happenings, #24

Happy December, Dear Sponsors,

Welcome to my latest update.  As always, I have a lot to share with you.

The cold weather is upon us.  But the warmth here at the sanctuary is ongoing.  Our Thanksgiving with the Cats event was a huge success.  Lots of folks came by to learn about Tabby’s Place and our mission, and to visit with all of the kitties. Visitors brought cat food, litter, and other things we need on a daily basis, and got to give some of the kitties bits of turkey!  I, of course, helped with event setup. It was great fun.

But now, we have December with all of the holidays.  Christmas and the start of Hanukkah are on the same day this year, and Kwanzaa begins on December 26th. I have been trying so hard to be a good boy and have actually done a pretty good job for most of the year.  So, I hope Santa won’t be too hard on me when he finds out that I just love to steal Grecca’s bed and food when she is not looking.

It’s all about that “naughty or nice” thing.  Being a curious kitty, I can’t help myself when I see a chance to steal some forbidden food that Grecca has not eaten.  She did let the staff know, and they gave her a refill which I was not allowed to take.  I think one of my New Year’s resolutions will be to try to be better… LOL!

Grecca was not happy with me stealing her bed!
Prescott & me greeting visitors

Meanwhile, Prescott and I have been tagged the Romeo and Juliet of Tabby’s Place.  We spend a lot of time together, in between naps and our daily duties.

I am the assistant to the volunteers and continue to monitor their activities to be sure we get our food and beds and clean litter boxes. Prescott usually likes to nap during all the activity!  Someone has to do it, so it might as well be my lady love.  She needs all her energy to keep up with me at playtime.

Health-wise, I have been really stable this month.  I had a small coughing bout a while ago, but it cleared up and is nothing to worry about.  Both Prescott and Grecca are also in good health.  Yay for my ladies keeping healthy and happy!

A compromise! But later the staff put TWO beds in Grecca’s area, so we are all set!

If you are nearby and can visit us here for the holidays, please do so, dear sponsors. We are always happy to see lots of people here so that we can have many adoptions. If you can’t come in person, visit us online and see all the beautiful kitties we have here.

I am so thankful to have you as my sponsor. You make it possible for me to have this good life at the sanctuary, and to have friends such as Prescott and Grecca and all the volunteers and staff. I’d be lost without you, so thank you from the bottom of my kitty heart.

Be safe and well and warm this winter season. And whether you celebrate any of the holidays or not, just be happy and enjoy each day.

Purrs and kitty kisses,
Hips
