Hips’ Happenings #19

Oliver… hmmmm….

Happy July to all my dear Sponsors and Tabby’s Place fans.

Welcome to the latest update! I have a lot to share!

So, you hoomans all celebrated July 4th, your Independence Day…and what a celebration it was!   I hear tell you had parades and fireworks.  We did not have all of that here at the Sanctuary—no parades, but sometimes we do have “fireworks”—the kitty kind. Let me explain.

You know I had a good thing going with my lobby surveillance.  Grecca took care of the back and I had the front with my ladies:  Olive had the door, Boobalah had the front desk, and Prescott and I took care of the remaining area.

Russ and me. I love his beard!

BUT, I lost my independence recently.

Some big orange guy named Oliver (no relation to Olive)  came into the lobby one day and he has been here ever since.  Oliver and I do clash at times and he has been bothering the ladies as well.  We had a secret kitty meeting about him and we think he is trying to assert himself as the lobby leader…well, guess what, I am still in charge.  “Ollie” and I have learned to co-exist.

So, I have been having some mobility issues lately.  My front leg has been bothering me and I am limping sometimes.  That is why I spend a lot of time in my cat tree or Larry’s chair at the front desk.  Larry is very kind to let me use his chair as he has to lean over to answer the phone.  But he doesn’t have a bad leg.  So it’s all good.  (and Boobalah and I monitor the front desk when Larry is not here)

And, my friend Russ visits me a lot.  He has been a volunteer here at Tabby’s for many years.  He has a great beard and I LOVE to nestle in it and climb up on him and wrap myself around his neck.  Russ visits me and sits with me for a long time after he finishes his volunteer duties.

Speaking about duties, I have to watch Smokey and Cora to be sure that Oliver doesn’t bother them.  They are sweet kitties and sometimes get picked on by the big orange guy.  But I am on it!

Other than my bad leg, I am fine and loving life here at Tabby’s Place.  Come visit me and see for yourself.  You will love the sanctuary and will have a lot of fun playing with all the kitties.

Until next month, be safe and COOL…because it sure is hot outside this summer  .

Purrs and kitty kisses,
Hips
