Happy September to all my Dear Sponsors and Tabby’s Place Fans! Welcome to my latest update.
Guess what? BREAKING NEWS!! The lobby is safe and secure. As we wind down the lazy and hazy days of summer, I am happy to report that all the kitties are on lobby duty and making sure it is secure for all visitors, staff, and volunteers.
You can see all of us just ready for guard duty. As you can see, I am obviously guarding the lobby with every ounce of my strength. There are a lot of folks here for the annual Volunteer Picnic and I am keeping an eye out for any mischief as well as for any morsels of food or crumbs that may fall my way. Honestly, this guard duty is very strenuous and I fear I may have to take a nap after this is all over….LOL!

Mary Anne came to visit me the other day, but I didn’t even budge from my lookout spot on the reception desk. It was early in the day and I was taking my post-breakfast nap.
My best girl and future wifey, Prescott, was sound asleep on a comfy bed by the door during her security watch. And my other girl, Olive, was nestled in the cat tree next to the reception desk. Yep, I would say we had the lobby covered and were ready to pounce on any intruders.
My friend, Antin, was curled up on a nice bed with a red blankie with Larry the Lobster. And Grecco was napping on top of my crate. That’s okay as she can’t get to me at night when I am sound asleep inside.

Even Rose the Robot was resting. She was in the cabinet in the lobby just watching all of us. But no treats on this day from Rosie.
It was just a lazy day. The volunteers were busy cleaning and washing the floor and putting down new beds and blankies while all of us slept the morning away. I thought I might explore a bit, but my sleepy side prevailed.
I have been practicing my poses both awake and sleeping as I thought I might become a cover boy like my Prescott is a cover girl for the Linda Fund. It helps out kitties in need and funds are matching. The time for donating was extended… so if you would like to help kitties who are really in desperate need of medical attention, please consider a donation and it will be matched.

Then I realized I had to rest up for the Grand Opening of Quinn’s Corner in October. This part of the sanctuary is for the cats who tested positive for the feline leukemia virus who would not have a place to go and would be sent to Rainbow Bridge by many rescues. So we have a place for them here at Tabby’s where they can live out their lives with love and lots of medical care when they need it. If you can, please come to the Grand Opening on Saturday 10/7. From 12-4pm, we’ll be celebrating with tours, speeches, activities for all ages, and of course visits with our sensational cats, like me! Some great staff folks will be emailing you further details soon, but mark your calendars for this fabulous moment in feline history, so you can see how Tabby’s Place has grown. You will not be disappointed.
My health this month has been on and off… I am having some elimination issues. But the staff is watching me and making sure I am getting the right food and seeing the vet if need be.

So, please come to visit us here at Tabby’s Place. You may find me curled up with another of my lobby ladies, Valerie…she and I have fun together when Prescott is busy. I feel it is one of my jobs to take care of my female felines (except for Grecca who can take care of herself and does quite nicely). Until next month, be safe, happy, and healthy, and mark a date for a visit to Tabby’s Place.
Love to all,
Hips
(With help from your correspondent, Mary Anne)
