Sweet Valerie is a shy girl with a heart of gold despite her rough beginnings. We aren’t sure where she spent her earliest days, but she was luckily rescued by another organization who did their best to take care of her needs. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide the long-term and daily care she requires and reached out to us for help. We are so glad that Valerie was able to come and join us at our sanctuary!
In addition to being a paraplegic, Valerie has an interesting physical condition: her back legs are bent behind her, almost “pretzel style.” Her back legs don’t slow her down, however, as she is able to scoot around easily. Just like most paraplegics, she does not require any kind of mobility device, but rather prefers to find her own way of getting around.
Valerie is a sweet but very shy little lady. She can be nervous when first approached but loves to get some gentle pets and attention. She warms up quickly once you show her you are a friend and enjoys being doted on. She will need a quiet, patient home to help her come out of her shell and truly blossom.
In addition to getting along with humans, Valerie is great with other cats. She has befriended a few of the other cats in the lobby where she resides and would do well in a home with other laidback felines who can show her the ropes and give her a confidence boost.
