Update for Frankie

Greetings, Frankie fans!

Welcome to Frankie’s very first monthly update. He’s delighted to have you in his extended family, and he hopes you’ll enjoy his adventures.

Frankie has settled into our Community Room at Tabby’s Place, where his antics keep us in a constant state of wonder and amusement.

Unusually for a Tabby’s Place cat, we know when Frankie was born: 2010. Technically, he’s a senior, at an age when you’d think most cats would have a lot less spring in their proverbial step. But Ol’ Blue Eyes (my nickname for him) never received that memo—he’s one energetic boy!

Frankie is a good sport for our smitten staff’s hijinks…and a cool dude from any angle.

Although he gained internet fame for having such sad eyes, Frankie’s disposition does not match his facial expression. Bursting with bravado and energy, he can be quite domineering around other members of his own species. But, he adores people and is ready to be your little buddy as soon as you meet him. You can almost see him questioning why anyone would bother with other felines when he’s around and so ready to share his love with you.

Medically, there is a bit of news to report, but nothing terribly serious. Frankie has a chronically weepy left eye due to feline herpes (which is an extremely common condition).

As you can see, there’s not much “sad” about our Frankie

There’s nothing to be done about that, and it doesn’t affect him much, if at all. This month, the skin around that eye was noted to be rather pink, but no inflammation or infection was detected. We’ll watch him in case either occurs, and treat him as needed.

Frankie also developed some loose stool this month, so he was started on a medication that should help resolve that.

It is not easy to find “furever” homes for senior felines, but Frankie is so personable and so much fun that we have high hopes he’ll be adopted. Meantime, he’ll stay with us, zipping around, basking in the attention he so richly deserves, and (it must be admitted) being spoiled by staff and volunteers alike.

Thank you for so generously helping to provide Frankie with the good life at Tabby’s Place!
