Hello, Friends of Faye!
Faye and I hope this month’s update finds you and your loved ones safe, healthy, and staying cool as July turns up the heat with some glimmering, simmering sunshine.
If you follow Tabby’s Place on social media sites, such as Facebook and Instagram, you’ll see that while we remain closed to the public following the NJ Executive Order, we have started a fun new program called Curbside Volunteering, which not only gives our volunteers the opportunity to return to Tabby’s Place to spend time with their favorite kitties but also offers extra enrichment to the cats to get to go for stroller rides!
And guess who had a turn already? Faye! One of our wonderful volunteers picked our favorite girl for a lovely stroller visit this past weekend. And, according to the volunteer, Faye “loved being outside and was rolling around in the stroller and talking to me. She was very happy!” It’s no secret that despite her glamour-girl persona, Faye is more of an outdoorsy type at heart, so you can imagine how much she enjoyed spending some extended time outside in nature, observing the flowers, birds, and bumblebees from the safety of her stroller. Faye gives our Curbside Volunteering program two paws up! And she hopes that more volunteers will pick her as the cat they’d like to spend stroller time with.
In other news, it would seem that Faye is one of the lucky ones who hasn’t noticed the scale moving up a bit during the quarantine. Raise your hand if you had an extra serving of ice cream during the Fourth of July weekend (raises a hand . . .). Faye’s weight was down a bit this month. Even though her bloodwork last month was within the normal range, we will proactively continue to monitor her weight on a weekly basis.
Faye sends you love and affectionate and gratitude for your friendship and generous support! She hopes that you, too, are enjoying some time in the mid-summer sunshine. We’ll talk again soon, friends . . .
Your correspondent,
Beth
