Update for Faye

Update for Faye

Happy April, friends of Faye!

Faye doesn’t have many sponsors yet, so if you are already one of her best friends, hello again! And if you are “meeting” Faye through this update for the first time, welcome! I just know you’ll love Faye as much as I do.

Faye has taken it upon herself to do a bit of networking this month. To be clear: if Faye had a Facebook account, she’d be the kitty with a thousand friends and a relationship status that read “it’s complicated.”

Here’s the scoop: maybe she’s inspired by the gorgeous weather, perhaps she’s just feeling better after recovering from a nasty ear infection a few weeks ago, or maybe she’s just more curious about visitors lately, but in any event, Faye has appointed herself the “Greeter” of her suite. She’s the first to approach and welcome anyone — visitor or volunteer — who enters Suite B. And she makes it a point to flourish her amazing tail and be as charmingly fluffy as possible.

She’s been met with much interest, too! In fact, she seems to go right to the short list of any potential adopter who meets her — that is, until we have that uncomfortable conversation about Faye’s history of “inappropriate elimination.” Sigh. Even though we don’t see this behavior here at Tabby’s Place, it’s something Faye did in the past, so we need to let potential adopters know. Of course, that slightly embarrassing insight usually crosses Faye off their list of contenders. Poor Faye! This repeated story is like a mug shot photo that seems to haunt her, in spite of her years of “good behavior.”

Faye doesn’t let it get her down, though. She keeps putting her best paw forward with every new person she meets, and we know that one day, the right person will be ready to swoop her up and give her the forever home she deserves.

For now, Faye will keep trying! I always remind her that she has so many friends who love her — friends like you, who help us take care of her! Faye and I wish you a Happy Spring, and we can’t wait to talk to you again next month.

Until then, friends: be well. 🙂
