Happy February, Friends of Faye!

Calling all Valentines! If you find yourself hoping for true love this year, look no further than Faye. If there ever was a cat who personified all that Valentine’s Day is, it is she. Some of our wonderful volunteers have been staging beautiful hearts-and-flowers themed photos of our kitties, and by far, their favorite “model” is the lovely Princess Faye, who graciously poses for them at every opportunity.

That’s why I’d like to dispel a misconception on this Valentine’s Day. The first time I met Faye, it took a while for her to come down from the high ramps in her suite to greet me. It seems that she prefers to hang back for a bit to get a sense of whomever is in the suite before she ventures down.

This has earned Faye a reputation (at least among newcomers) for being a bit aloof. The truth is: Faye loves love! Once she gets to know you, her little heart full of love is as open and trusting as you can possibly imagine. Faye loves sitting on laps, being brushed, being snuggled, and — if you’re a talker — she’ll sit with you and listen for hours.

Faye has enjoyed stable health this month, and the return of warmer (if not exactly “warm”) days has allowed for more time in the solarium.

So, if you’re in need of a Valentine this year, look no further because you’ve got Faye, and she loves you to the moon and back! Thank you for being her friend, sponsor, and Valentine. She thanks you from the bottom of her beautiful little heart.
