Update for Cisco

Update for Cisco

Greetings Cisco adorers,

I hope this update finds you keeping cool enough and enjoying the lazy days of summer!

Cisco’s social scene has undergone major changes this month. Arlo went to his forever home (YAY Arlo!!), Toby returned, and Ralph, Liam, and Inigo are new and settling in nicely. Ralph is in training for official greeter position (Arlo’s shoes will be tough to fill!). He is a very sweet and handsome boy.

Cisco hasn’t had the best of months, but he seems to be making the most of the long summer days, spending his time in the solarium, relaxing or sleeping. Surprisingly, he was interested in finding out what kind of treats I had for him.  Since he was having some difficulty chewing one of them, I sought out other options. A staff member showed me a chicken (goo) treat that Cisco might like. Sure enough, he ate two tubes of it, right off my fingertips! He also allowed me to give him light scratches on the top of his head.

We continue to monitor dear Cisco closely. He is still losing weight, and he’s not responding to the medication we use to treat anemia caused by renal disease. This month, we conducted an ultrasound in search of an explanation for his anemia, but our vet team found nothing abnormal. We will continue to dote on Cisco on his own terms and to monitor him vigilantly.

Thank you, super ones, for being so devoted to Cisco. He is getting the best possible care and oodles of love, thanks to your love and support.
Have a beautiful month!

Your correspondent,
Donna
