I know by the darkness that creeps into the solarium by 5pm that winter is approaching, but I’m trying to focus on all the joys this season brings. Although my diabetic meal plan does not include the more decadent canned food options that many cats here enjoy, I will not let this get me down. I know most humans celebrate Thanksgiving by overindulging calorically, but we “special diet” cats have to get creative.

I and my fellow FIV roomies have managed to mystify the vet staff this month, speaking of calories. Everyone has mysteriously lost ounces, except for me…I of course have managed to find a few! When this news was announced, our Founder and Executive Director crowed, “Thank God! We can all rest easy that Charlie is not wasting away!” Hee hee…I know he’s just kidding around because he loves me. I also know that I am in no danger of fading away to nothing anytime soon, thanks of course to the extra special love and care I receive here due to your sponsorship.

Hmmm…I guess I have been grabbing a few extra dry food snacks over the past month, since I definitely prefer that crunch. Hey, if I’m going to keep up my new habit of snoozing in the solarium, I have to pack on some extra padding to keep me warm as these days grow colder. Can you blame me? My scribe caught me full out fast asleep on a lawn chair outside this past week — snoring away, not a care in the world.
