Update for Buddy

Update for Buddy

February greetings to you, and to all Buddy’s buddies.

Whether you enjoyed the action in the Super Bowl or the sweetness of the Kitten Bowl (or maybe even both), now that the trophies have been handed out and the last of the confetti has landed on the turf, things are settling down once more in the USA. That also applies to the FIV-Positive suite at Tabby’s Place, as go-getter lady cat Giselle has moved on to her forever home, and in her place is a hesitant gray guy named Stormie.

The rest of the cats are giving Stormie some space as he gets used to his new residence. Buddy has a tendency to visit and greet newcomers, so it’s likely someday soon there will be some reports of Stormie and Buddy quietly enjoying each other’s company. Peace and harmony are just Buddy’s style, and the abundance of calm probably has a hand in his good health over the past month.

Still, calm doesn’t mean total inactivity. I watched the young kits play on the Kitten Bowl telecast, exploring every square inch of the studio available to them, and it reminded me of Buddy’s athleticism. Soon after he came to live at Tabby’s Place, Buddy would carefully crawl into a small space between the ramp and the top of a cage, from which spot he could observe cats like Edward, Toby, and sibling JuJu.

Now he gets around a lot more, and as seen in these two pictures, he looks like a good candidate to be a cat yoga instructor. (Yes, cat yoga is a thing.) Anyway, flexibility is a useful personal attribute, whether you’re sharing space with several felines or you’re a human in close proximity to other humans.

As the early days of spring approach, here’s hoping your health and your spirit are cat-like and your outlook on life is just as flexible, too. I can just imagine robins in flight northward and crocuses quietly limbering up, signs of spring preparing to make themselves known in the very near future. Enjoy it all, and rest assured that your donations in support of Special Needs cats like Buddy have helped bring them from impossible situations to a more tranquil life at Tabby’s Place. Thank you so much for helping these cats.
