Our darling Buddy continues to delight and amaze us with his cat-sistency.

This past month, Buddy and his suitemates were all retested for FIV. This was prompted by new developments in the science of FIV testing. Previously, any cat who had been vaccinated for FIV would test positive for the virus, even if he was not truly infected. This could result in false positives.

But now, a test has been created that distinguishes between truly FIV+ cats and vaccinated cats. As it turns out, every cat in our FIV Suite is truly FIV+.

Happily, Buddy continues to enjoy stellar health. His annual physical exam revealed no abnormalities, and his teeth look great.

As previously reported, Buddy has been surprisingly reticent to cozy up to his new suitemates this spring. In the past month, though, he finally exhibited some interest in the adorably sweet Mr. Grey Fluffy Pants. Typical of our gorgeous green-eyed fellow, Buddy moves forward very cautiously. He’ll inch towards Mr. GFP, but then backs away before becoming genuinely friendly. As Buddy’s cadre of admirers has learned, it takes time with Buddy, in all things. So, stay tuned. Perhaps next month, we’ll be able to share tales of some genuine contact!
