Dearest buddies of Buddy,

Our gentle boy had his closest brush with adoption this month. The couple who adopted Mistletoe in 2011 came to add a second FIV+ feline to their family. After much deliberation, they narrowed the field to two fur babies, Buddy and Mitt. Frankly, the Tabby’s team thought Buddy had the edge, given that Mitt had dwelt almost exclusively in the solarium tube. But we don’t choose who we love, and the adopters were ultimately smitten with Mitt. We believe Buddy’s day will come eventually.

Other than this major development, to which Buddy was totally oblivious, life rolls on for our beloved little man. He no longer confines his kitty affection to Wolfie and Newman. Buddy now happily rolls with any FIV+ dude or dudette within close range. His willingness to allow people — and not just his closest people — to pet his silky fur continues. Picking him up is still largely aspirational for most of us, but we Buddy lovers are long on hope.

‘Til the fairy dust of love and destiny sprinkle on Buddy and his forever family falls in love with him, all his devoted admirers will continue to shower him with affection.
