Update for Buddy

Update for Buddy

Happy February to Buddy’s sponsors.

There is joy throughout Suite FIV, as Buddy and his pals are again free-feeding. Thanks to neighbor Pyewacket‘s transition to non-prescription food, scheduled meals are over, and all-day dry food has returned to the suite that loves it most.

Less joyful are reports that Buddy has begun “inappropriately eliminating” — that is, peeing in places where pee does not belong. Our vet has not been able to find anything medically wrong that might be causing this, so we will continue to monitor Buddy closely.

Otherwise, however, Buddy is having a blissful month. (And, truth be told, his bathroom behavior isn’t limiting his bliss at all, either. Cats are remarkably unconcerned about such things.) As our Welcomer-in-Chief, he’s thrown himself into the project of embracing new neighbors Sonny and Mitt. These shy boys will need all the gentle friendship they can get, so we are grateful for Buddy’s help as we socialize them.

For his part, Buddy is needing less and less “socialization,” and making more and more efforts to socialize us right back. As he opens his heart to more friends and even strangers, it’s easier to imagine the day when his forever home will appear on the horizon.

In the meantime, dear sponsors, thank you so much for helping to keep our little marvel healthy and happy. Have a delightful month, and know that you are Buddy’s own personal Valentines, 365 days a year.
