Update for Bialy

Dear Bialy supporters,

Our vet, Dr. Collins, said it well: “Bialy isn’t just hydrocephalic, he’s hydroabdominalic.” Translation? Our “little” guy has a big, giant stomach. Unlike his head (which now seems remarkably proportional, if not a bit too small ;-)), Bialy’s stomach isn’t super-sized due to fluid…but due to food. All kidding aside, Bialy is doing marvelously and continuing to enjoy that dry food as you see from this video (click here).

He also enjoys his beloved Uncle Tashi – in a big way. His medications continue to serve him well, and at this time there is no reason to expect he will need any surgery in the future. Still, the faint prospect of that is probably the only explanation for why darling Bialy has not yet been adopted.

He loves people and any visitor is sure to get a warm welcome from Bialy. He has also learned my voice and came out of a kitty condo to greet me and get a belly rub when he heard me come in.

He also loves to “assist” us when we have papers, pens, glue sticks, etc on the table. He’ll lie on the papers and play with the other stuff. How could anyone resist something so adorable?

As for playing with real toys…well maybe, if he’s in the mood. We think he may just be too lazy sometimes. As you see in this month’s photo there he is with a mouse and a toy, just posing, but not bothering to bat them around. Maybe that’s why he and Uncle Tashi get along so well; he needs some motivation to play, like another cat.

Here’s hoping that someone with a big heart and perhaps a playful cat decides to take our Bialy home.

Thank you for your support.
