Update for Beatrice

Greetings, Bea sponsors! I’m Pam, the Sanctuary Operations Manager at Tabby’s Place. Unfortunately, Melissa had to temporarily stop visiting Bea due to personal matters at home. I know it’s breaking her heart not to be able to visit with Bea. But next month Bea will have a new correspondent named Leanora, who is spending this month getting to know her. In the mean time, I thought I’d fill you in on our gray and white petite puff ball.

The cats in the Special Needs suite received a luxurious gift two weeks ago – a brand new carpeted cat tree. Anastasia was the first one to inspect it and cuddled up in the top perch. A few days later, when Sandy saw that Anastasia had temporarily left her new post, he decided to make it his perch of choice. Recently, however, it has become clear that the perch clearly belongs to our Bea girl. I love her stubby little arm in the photo to the right–isn’t she a hoot’

Recently, my fellow staff and I have been going into the suite daily to give Sandy sub-qutaneous fluids. As soon as we enter, Bea sits up in her perch, stretches, then makes her way down in order to play with the line between the fluid bag and the needle that we insert under Sandy’s skin. And it seems like the more we try to move the line away from her, the more excited she is about getting it. She’s such a riot! (Though Sandy didn’t think it was funny.)
