Update for Bagheera

Update for Bagheera

Greetings, Bagheera Sponsors,

My name is Ginny, and I’m the Administrative Assistant at Tabby’s Place. In addition to my typical responsibilities, I have been entrusted with a very special role, my favorite here at Tabby’s Place: to ensure that Bagheera enjoys daily stimulation and attention.

Bagheera lives in a large crate in our sanctuary lobby where he welcomes visitors and gets lots of cuddles from them in return (see photo above).

But nobody likes being stuck at “home” all day, especially an inquisitive cat like Bagheera, who enjoys exploring all the nooks and crannies of the sanctuary, both inside and out.

Five days a week, I strap Bagheera into his mobility cart and supervise him as he cruises around the sanctuary.

On days when it is not too humid outside, Bagheera loves to be outdoors. He zips across the grass and over stones as if they were no different than the smooth floor inside the building.
Sometimes Bagheera will stand still in his cart for long minutes at a time with his nose high in the air, inhaling some intriguing smell making its way through the air.

Indoors, Bagheera enjoys playing with little toy mice, taking naps on the couch in the lobby, and receiving body massages (of course, he can’t feel the physical therapy we do on his hind legs, but he enjoys the attention).

Since I do not work on the weekends, Pam, our Sanctuary Operations Manager, usually puts Bagheera in a wheelbarrow and wheels him around the sanctuary wherever she goes. Bagheera spends long spans of time kneading away at the super soft and cozy blanket in his wheelbarrow. Pam tells me that when she bends over him in the wheelbarrow, Bagheera cranes his neck to rub his face against hers, and it melts her every time.

Bagheera has a lot of life in him, and I can’t thank you enough for sponsoring this sweet, friendly boy. Please feel free to come by and visit him. I look forward to providing you with regular updates on Bagheera (that’s me in the photo below with our buddy). Until next month…
