Happy August, Amber sponsers! As always, we’ve got new things going on in Amber’s life…

Unfortunately, the news isn’t good. Amber didn’t look quite herself a few weeks ago, so our vets did blood work. I’m told that it was a challenge in itself just to get her blood taken! I’m sure you’re not surprised, knowing Amber. The results came back: Amber’s kidney values have worsened. This is bad news for any kitty, but given Amber’s personality, it’s virtually impossible to medicate her. So, she’s been put on a diet of renal wet food several times a day. We’re hoping this will improve her kidney values.

On a positive note, last time I visited Amber she looked okay, and was tolerant of me! I layed down next to her and spoke to her for a while. She looked at me, and she even winked! I took this as a good sign – I really think she did it on purpose. Then, I attempted the pet. She allowed a few strokes! I stopped before it got to be too much for her liking.

We’re all hoping that the new diet will be enough to help Amber. Your support is extremely helpful to providing her with all that she needs. Until next month…
