Special Update for Tadpole

Special Update for Tadpole

Dear Friends of Tadpole,

We have some wonderful news to report. Tadpole and her brother, Toad, are being adopted by their fabulous foster family! So this is going to be your first and last update on little “Taddy.”

The siblings started out their foster period with a very stubborn case of ringworm. Tadpole also had severe urine scalding on her hind end. By the time the little dear was healed up and the pair could be regularly dipped in their smelly lime sulfur bath, the siblings were so much a part of the household, our amazing senior vet tech, Denise, and her family couldn’t image a home without these two.

In addition to loving her littermate, Toad, Tadpole adores her human family and her doggie sister, Anna. I’ve seen videos of little Tadpole rubbing herself up against Anna and getting gently nuzzled in return. Taddy doesn’t seek out other cats for snuggles, but she loves human affection. Tadpole likes to lick. Denise reports that when she scoops her up for snuggles, Taddy licks her face with love and purrs.

At a mere 4.5 pounds, Tadpole is a tiny thing with big eyes and an even bigger spirit. She may be the littlest in the family, but she doesn’t take any nonsense from anyone–not even her brother, who is more than twice her size! She may only have two functioning legs, but she moves at a rapid pace and surmounts any obstacles in her way. She loves to climb cat trees and human furniture where she can perch and observe the activities below. While this makes her humans very nervous, she is fearless, confident, and persistent. There is no stopping the little white wisp. She even climbs out of her feeding pen when she is done eating.

Just like any other kitten, Tadpole loves to play. While some forms of play can be difficult for a paraplegic cat, Taddy takes her play seriously. She likes little mice that she can chase around and will guard them from any cats that might try and steal them away. She prefers to play solo.

Since Tadpole has found her happy “forever,” your sponsorship has been transferred to another Special Needs cat: our newest paraplegic puffball, Cotton. Little Cotton resides in our Lobby. Like Tadpole, Cotton is a kitten who requires special care. You will be one of Cotton’s very first sponsors, and you can meet him by clicking here. You’ll receive your first update on Cotton in Marcy.

If you’d prefer to choose a different cat to sponsor, you can meet them all here. Please feel free to email us if you’d like to transfer your support to a different kitty. (Otherwise, going forward you will receive updates on sweet Cotton each month.)

Thank you for helping to make miracles possible for kittens like Tadpole and Cotton!

Lisa
