I’m practicing yoga and blending into my environment (I am ‘one’ with my blanket)

Dear Friends,

I hope your summer has been relaxing and fun so far. For me, summer usually brings a busy social calendar.

My human friends continue to take me cruising in my very own special stroller. It gives me the perfect vantage point to supervise the humans while enjoying the fresh air. Even though the temperature outside has been hot, I’m grateful for all the friends who juggle their schedules to get me outside when it’s more comfortable and safer for me.

Last month I celebrated Pride by sporting a rainbow bandana. I wore it with my usual confidence and accepted the compliments as my due. My good looks were so distracting that no one remembered to snap a photo. Next year, I’d like to participate in a joyful parade. And photos will be a must!

When things are quiet, I’ve been practicing yoga. I get kudos for my flexibility. My yoga practice not only provides a good stretch, but it also calms me before I’m expressed (when the staff helps to empty my bowels).

Post-brushing — the finished product!

My nemesis friend came by for a recent brushing appointment. You may remember my long-running relationship with my regular brusher. It’s… complicated. We continue our ongoing negotiations, with treats playing a key role in reaching a peaceful agreement. We continue to make progress. This time, I hardly growled at all. Baby steps.

I don’t love the process, but I do love the delectable “bribe”

Life here is full of good care, fresh air and people who make sure I have everything I need—even if they occasionally insist on brushing me. My spirits and my health are stellar. And my gratitude for you is off the charts.

Your kindness means the world to me, and I’m so grateful you’re part of my story.

With soft purrs and kisses,
Anka
