Happy Month of Love to you, dear sponsors!
I’m delighted to be filling in for Donna this month, and excited to bring you news of our very special Miss Curiosity!
Rori continues to masterfully investigate every single thing she encounters. And in the process, she has us all in stitches.
Our girl was excited to help with a recent mailing at Tabby’s Place. This large project required quite a bit of collation and assembly, and hence had to be done on the big table in the Community Room.
Rori supervised from a cardboard scratcher in the middle of the conference table. She sat on folders and address labels. She tried to sit on a box of completed mail that was stacked vertically in a box. But, she decided (wisely) that this was a poor place to sit, and went back to the sheets of address labels.
Her special combination of curiosity and wanting to sit on everything makes for much amusement.
Also in January, we had a significant snowstorm with over ten inches of snow, making it difficult for volunteers and staff to get into Tabby’s Place.
But, we are a 365-day operation. The cats need medication, food, cleaning of their suites, and other daily care. Rori, in particular, needs to have her bladder expressed on a regular schedule, or else she runs the risk of infection and pain.
Our amazing staff decided that this demanded a sleepover for two nights, and a small crew took on this challenge. Rori thoroughly enjoyed participating in the sleepover and wonders why this does not happen every night!
You’ll recall that, last month, Donna shared that Prescott moved back to the lobby to mitigate an ongoing zesty rivalry with Rori.
Now it seems Rori is having issues with new arrival Sandy, a senior who appreciates a good deal of personal space. Rori is more of an “in your face” kitty, so you can see where that might lead to kitty altercations. We will keep a close eye on these ladies.
Last weekend, the external temperature was arctic, but big warmth and love prevailed inside Tabby’s Place. Thank you to all who attended Your Feline Valentine, an open house where sponsors could visit with their kitties, the general public got to learn about Tabby’s Place, and everyone received whisker kisses! Of course, you don’t need to wait for a special event, as you are warmly welcome to visit Rori and her friends anytime at all.
As January came to a close, Rori caught a case of the sniffles. There’s a respiratory virus going around right now, so staff, volunteers, and visitors are asked to be diligent with the hand sanitizer as they move from room to room. Be assured our girl is on the mend and will receive all she needs to stay healthy.
In this month of love, we are so grateful for your devotion to Rori. Our hearts smile when we think of how your kindness ensures that Rori has the best care possible, along with staff and volunteers who reassure her just how much she means to all of us.
