Dear Team Regina,
Oh, my goodness! Do I have radical news, juicy gossip, and tall tales to tell! Big changes have been happening at Tabby’s Place and, as always, Regina is in the thick of the action!

First, the health news.
Regina developed a urinary tract infection this month and has been on antibiotics to clear it up. As Regina needs to have her bladder expressed multiple times daily, our staff regularly checks her for UTIs, to which paraplegic cats are prone. The problem will remain more of a nuisance for her than a serious issue, as the medical staff continues to monitor her condition.
Now for the real news! As you may be aware, Tabby’s Place has experienced a “growth spurt” in our feline population, with the addition of many new cats from a monumental colony rescue. The influx has resulted in some shuffling of suites to accommodate all our residents.
In addition, with the recent passing of his best friend Tucker, Regina’s next door neighbor Oram was feeling a bit forlorn. Oram’s spacious Suite G would afford our junior para-Olympian a great deal more floor space to explore, so Regina made the big move.

Of course, I know what you’re thinking: Did Regina’s paramour, Mr. Man, make the move, too? I am very sorry to report he did not, and it appears—at least for now—the Tabby’s Place love affair of the century is over.
Checkers did his best to console Mr. Man, staying by his side at all times. But sadly, we lost Checkers to lymphoma earlier this month. Neither we nor his best buddy Mr. Man will ever forget this gentle boy, and Mr. Man continues to have gentle company in the form of Puff, Batty, and Hoopla Green. (And please don’t worry too much about Mr. Man, who is a staff and volunteer favorite and gets lavished with love all day.)

Regina, for her part, took the move well. She has the space to spread her wings, so to speak, and that is very good for our little athlete.
And, not one to waste a minute, Regina has set about making new friends. She and Oram, her new potential suitor, seem to be equally fascinated by one another. We feel for Mr. Man—but, whoa, it seems our girl Regina doesn’t waste any time pining for lost love.
Like Mr. Man, Oram is dressed to impress. We could hardly blame Regina for being a bit fickle. Oram is a little closer to her age. Like Regina, he is extremely athletic and loves to play. He gladly zooms across the room in hot pursuit of a toy mouse to offer to his new lady friend (except for those rare moments when he’d prefer to keep it for himself). Oram also enjoys battling intensely with a wand toy— all the more if he can catch Regina’s eye with his herculean efforts.
Will Regina forget Mr. Man, her suave, older beau, for a handsome younger fellow? Or will all Oram’s crazy antics to impress her push Regina back into pining for her older, wiser, and more gentle Mr. Man? It’s certainly fuel for future tabloid fodder … and, as they say, inquiring minds will want to know.
Thank you for your beautiful generosity to our dear Regina. May you and your loved ones have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Until next month, your correspondent,
Tina
