Happy spring, Friends of Faye!
How are you, friends? Faye and I hope this month’s update finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe as we navigate our new normal amidst these unprecedented strange days.
As you probably know, Tabby’s Place is closed to both visitors and volunteers, while we all practice responsible social distancing and #StayAtHome. Our wonderful staff is working diligently to make sure all our resident kitties are enjoying good health, both physically and mentally. Our kitties miss their human friends, though, and can’t wait for our doors to reopen to see all of you again!
Faye has been enjoying good health this month. She is so very happy that spring is here that she is spending a great deal of time outside in Suite B’s adjacent solarium. In fact, since kitties don’t have to practice #socialdistancing, there is a good group out there these days, and they are all getting along quite well! Faye likes to bask in the sunshine when it’s warm and hang out in the little igloo in the solarium when it’s cooler. And, since the warmer weather is just a frog’s leap away, we gave Faye her pre-summer shave down last week (see slightly-less-floofy photo!). This helps keep Faye cool and comfortable as summer days grow ever nearer.
Faye thanks you for being her friend and sends you a heart full of love in these troubling times and she encourages you to stay strong and hold your loved ones close this month.
I think that’s great advice, and so I’m going to do something I’ve never done before in an update, which is to share a personal photo. This is a photo of me and my best friend—my cat, Story. Every night, just before sunset, we sit by the back door and look up into the trees at the birds outside. Story is fascinated by nature, and this evening ritual is something we do to keep calm and grounded.
May you be healthy, may you be safe, may you be calm. We love you! We’ll talk again soon, friends . . .
