Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot friends,

As you will remember, last month Carrot went through a bunch of tests to see if he would be a good candidate for our senior program, Aged to Purrfection, in which Tabby’s Place cats visit senior homes. After passing all his tests with flying colors, Carrot went to the senior home this month.

As you can imagine, Carrot did absolutely amazing with the seniors! In fact, the Tabby’s Place volunteers who took him said he was a “Rock Star!” The seniors pet him, they held him, kissed him, and talked to him. To no one’s surprise, Carrot loved all the attention. Our volunteers wheeled him around the facility in his stroller so he could meet everyone.

They said he was so comfortable and relaxed through the whole experience, that he just let the seniors dote on him. Carrot stayed at the senior home for a couple of hours, before heading back to Tabby’s Place. He did so well, and enjoyed it so much, he will definitely be a regular in the Aged to Purrfection program. Our Carrot, the therapy cat.

In other Carrot news, there have been no recurrences of that mysterious illness Carrot had last month. Carrot has enjoyed a healthy, happy month, his bloodwork is completely normal, and the vet team is happy with how he is doing.

He continues to hang out in his solarium with his buddies, and seems to be enjoying the slightly cooler weather. Carrot still spends time with Sparkly, but found some new friends too; sweet and gentle girls Pancake and Stella have joined the Carrot crowd.

We are still giving Carrot lunch each day, and that seems to be maintaining his weight perfectly.

Carrot asked me to let you all know about the Linda Fund, which is running now. The Linda Fund provides our neediest cats with life-saving care, AND if you donate to the Linda Fund every dollar is doubled! $25 becomes $50, $100 becomes $200, and so on. Please consider donating to help us help all these wonderful cats. The Linda Fund runs until 9/30 and you can find it on our home page.

That’s all the Carrot news for now. A huge thank you for your continued support of Carrot. Because of you, not only is Carrot happy and healthy, but now he can make seniors happy too!
