Update for Max

Hello, friends!

Max here. I am starting off the New Year by putting pen to paw to bring you my own update. I know it will help out my correspondent Kim, too.

As you all know, Kim has been my partner in sharing my news each month. She is sometimes guilty of writing more from her heart than from her head.
I have decided to follow her example this month.

The cats of Tabby’s Place often make friends with staff and volunteers. Like humans, we tend to have favorites, particular people that we look forward to seeing. When we do not see our favorites for awhile, we begin to worry.

I have been wondering about that correspondent of mine. She has not been in much to visit. She has not found the perfect backdrop for my photo this month. She has not chuckled when I refuse to cooperate, nor has she been around to charm me with her cooing. Each time the door opens, I wonder if she has finally stopped by to see me.

So far, no luck.

Kim has missed the changing cast of characters here in my suite with Leila‘s adoption. As Leila was a cat who took over the reign for a bit, I was happy to see her depart for her new adoptive home. My feline friend Sammy and I are feeling more comfortable. We have been sharing our window perch and shelves in the cat tree, and stretching out on our chairs for afternoon siestas.

Still, no Kim.

I have been looking forward to telling Kim that my weight has remained stable, and that my recent checkup left everyone feeling very good about me. I was taken off my appetite stimulant, and I have gained back the weight I had lost in the past few months.

I feel that with all of these positives, I am off to a good start this year.

I wish I could say the same for Kim.

It turns out a recent car accident is what’s kept Kim from being able to visit with me. I am happy to report that she suffered no more than some bumps and bruises. She got word to me via another volunteer that she hopes to visit with me soon. She also sent word that she knows the best remedy for what ails her: sitting in the chair in my suite, letting me climb all over her. This all sounds good to me!

Sometimes, a major scare makes one appreciate life’s many blessings. I know Kim considers it an honor to share my news with you each month. She is grateful that she and I are a part of the Tabby’s Place family. When she rests her head at night, she knows I am receiving the best care possible, whether she can visit or not.

We would like to thank you, dear sponsors, for the love and kindness you faithfully extend to me. We are so grateful for your continued support, and look forward to sharing this New Year with you.

Your loving Max
