Update for Max

Update for Max

Hello, dear sponsors.

Max here. I thought I would help my correspondent Kim, who has been going through a difficult time lately. So, with pen to paw, here is my update.

At our most recent visit, Kim confided in me that her grandmother, who was born in 1915, had entered Hospice care. Kim is directly involved with that care. My mind raced to do the math: does that make her grandmother over 100 years old? It sure does!

Kim told me her car had had a will of its own as she’d made the journey to Tabby’s Place that day. Cats are not the only ones who benefit from the peace here at the sanctuary. Many volunteers remark that visiting the cats provides a sense of comfort, and that they leave with lifted spirits and a more positive mindset.

As we usually do, Kim and I updated each other on all our news. I introduced my new roommate Galadriel (pictured below), a super-affectionate cat who has taken over my window perch. Galadriel now greets humans from what used to be my vantage point.

Another one of my roommates, Lucille, has improved tremendously thanks to subcutaneous fluid therapy for her kidney disease. Lucille is feeling so energetic that she, too, is now an exuberant feline hostess to all who visit.

Kim reminded me that in the past, I had been challenged by those who attempted to take over my perch or hog all of the attention. She is very proud of my social skills, and reminds me regularly of what a good boy I am.

We also shared the wonderful news that this year’s Linda Fund Matching Challenge was the most successful in the history of Tabby’s Place, topping last year’s total by over $34,000! Proceeds from this fund go towards life-saving emergency and specialty care for cats like me. Thank you for your amazing support, love and caring.

I am blessed to have remained in good health this past month. The staff always tends to my needs promptly, and the vet team monitors me very closely. My good health brings a sense of relief to Kim, as she turns her attention back to the needs of her grandmother.

Kim told me in parting, “old friends are the best friends.” That is what she considers me. After all, she has been my correspondent for almost four years now!

As I leave you today, I am grateful for your faithful love and support each month. Old friends are the best friends, which makes us more like family.

Thank you for being a part of the Tabby’s Place family, and for loving me so much.

Your favorite feline,
MAX
