Update for Max

Hello, dearest sponsors.

As you know, my correspondent Kim often allows me to take pen to paw to write my own update. As the warm summer days beckon, we thought this might be a nice time for me to do so.

Beautiful late-spring weather brought many a visitor to Tabby’s Place to attend our second Kitten Shower. This event gave our babies a moment to shine for potential adopters, in hopes of finding great homes in which to grow up. Though the focus was on the kittens, of course the adult cats were also available for visitation and/or potential adoption. From my window seat, I was able to oversee the entire event from beginning to end.

Speaking of that window seat, I have been relinquishing my post to Sherpa a lot lately. Staff and volunteers started to wonder why I was being so gracious. Since I’d passed all of my recent check-ups with flying colors, everyone knew there was no health concern keeping me from holding court at my usual post. My weight has stabilized, my appetite is good, and my demeanor is pleasant.

Only one thing in the suite has changed: Sherpa, a long-haired Himalayan, received a haircut.

Sherpa’s matted coat needed a chance to grow in evenly, and removing the tangles with a brush was painful for him. The staff has suggested that perhaps I was feeling sorry for Sherpa with his new hairdo, or that I was intimidated by his new look. However, these thoughts were only fleeting suggestions; anyone who knows me knows I do not intimidate easily. In fact, I reclaimed my post just in time to oversee all the fun that the Kitten Shower had to offer.

As spring moves into summer, I hope you will stop by the sanctuary I am blessed to call home. I am always your shining star, and I’d love to meet you. I remain ever so grateful for your generosity to me.

With love,

MAX
