I am putting pen to paw this month to personally share my news with you.
Though I don’t know why, I have been losing a little weight lately and have suffered a few bouts of dehydration. Our wonderful vet team ran a series of tests to see what might be going on. I’m grateful to report that both my bloodwork and an ultrasound showed nothing amiss. Whew! I’m feeling much better now, and rest assured that the Tabby’s Place medical team will continue to monitor me very carefully. I’m also happy to assure you that I am interested in food, and I’m drinking water well.
My correspondent visited after work the other evening, just to check on me. Now, she knows my dinner hour is not the best time for us to chat — the other cats and I are busy eating and getting ready to settle in. But Kim wanted to get photos for my update, and she was a little too late getting here to do so. Disappointed, she looked around at my roommates and me as we prepared for after-dinner snoozes. She knew we were sleepy, but she read my look when I tried to say “welcome to my world!” I knew she had gotten my message correctly when she started humming that classic tune, and sat down on the floor to visit with all of us.
They have always looked like this, and they add charm to an already pretty face. Eek is another of Kim’s favorite cats at Tabby’s Place.
Up on the perch, you will see Sherpa. Oh, it’s ok; I permitted this. Sherpa is now often seen on my perch, overlooking the lobby. You can see how we might argue over sitting in this plum location. Once on the perch, a cat can view everyone coming and going, and catch a nod or smile from our Executive Director. It’s a special spot, and Sherpa shares it with a fluff all his own.
Then there is Sammy. Do you see Sammy? No, you don’t, because Sammy is hiding in the cat tree. We could not get her to peek out for our photo session, but that’s ok. Sammy is doing well under my tutelage, and more times than not, she’ll now come out to greet visitors. Once such a shy girl, Sammy is blossoming into quite a lady, one who we all adore.
As I look about the suite I call home, I am feeling blessed. The results of my recent tests showed nothing wrong, and I know that, no matter what, I will get the very best of care. I am grateful, too, for the generosity of my wonderful sponsors, who help to make that care possible.
I wish each of you a beautiful and blessed Easter/Passover. If you don’t mind, please let the Easter Bunny know he can leave the goodie basket on the perch. We can all share it that way, as families do best.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of YOUR family.
