Hello, magnificent Max here!
It sure looks like “spring has sprung” around Tabby’s Place. In my suite, there is a big ledge in front of the window that looks out over the lobby. It is my favorite place to perch, because I can see everything that is going on: staff and volunteers coming and going, the cats in their respective suites and, of course, what’s happening right here in my own room! Kim has always called my window “Max’s looking glass,” and rightly so!
The old saying about “eyes being the windows to the soul” is surely true of me. Kim says she and other volunteers are able to figure me out from watching me watch them. There is the “I am happy to see you come into the lobby” look, usually followed up by the “are you coming into my suite soon?” look of longing. Sometimes, they see the “I am noble” look, as I sit on my perch as though on a throne. Other times, it’s the “don’t leave me just yet” look of woe…
Most of the time, I am just a big, handsome cat, always looking for a kind visitor and a little conversation.
I have been blessed with another month of good health. My coat shines, my white bib and paws are immaculate and my green eyes glow. Kim thinks I am a stunning fellow and never fails to remind me. Guess that’s why I like her so much!
She is helping me to put “pen to paw” today, while nursing along a sore “paw” of her own. We missed one of our visits this week when Kim found herself in the emergency room instead of in my room. As we write this update, she celebrates her birthday (a big one!) today sporting an array of bandages and a sling. I am chuckling as I look forward to seeing her in a few days – I am going to get my cat hair all over that thing!
Here’s hoping you are having a better start to the spring season! Thank you for being there for me, friends.
