June’s Journal #11
Happy Spring to all…what, did I say Spring? Did someone find her? Everyone keeps saying that Spring is just around the corner. I would like to know which corner that is so I can drag her back here for all of us to enjoy. I think Mother Nature is playing a joke on us all! And just a while ago, I heard someone say the “S” word—(SNOW)….Shhh…maybe if we whisper or don’t say it at all, it will go away.
I am fine here at the sanctuary, as we are warm and very well fed here. But it is not so nice for the outside babies, known as ferals or community cats. While many are happy outside, I am glad to be inside with all my beds and toys, and kitty and human friends.
So, I see we are having a lot of adoptions again. It makes me happy to see kitties going to their furever homes. But I do wish one of those kitties could be me. Everyone says I am “coming along” in my social skills. I don’t know exactly what that means, but they all smile when they say it, and I guess it is something good. So could you all wish upon a Spring star for me to help me find my person or people who will give me a furever home? I know I have a furever home here at Tabby’s Place, but I would love to have my very own humans and maybe fur sibs some day.
Well, we have another upper respiratory infection (URI) going around the sanctuary. I read our senior vet tech Denise’s latest post to all and she said some kitties are sick again. But never fear, I am fine and keeping up with my duties of patrolling the community room perimeter and attending staff meetings as usual. I was a bit lethargic a while back in late March and in early April. But I had a thorough vet check and everyone said there was no cause for concern. So now I am back to my “zippy” self and rolling around the community room with gusto.
I am very glad for all the vet checks we get here. We have our hearts and lungs checked, our nails clipped, our ears looked into, our tummies felt, our weight taken, our teeth examined, and our blood drawn on a regular basis. This way we can all be in tip-top shape for any adopters who will want to take us home. Until someone comes for me, I will be here at the sanctuary enjoying my back rubs, massages, spa days, treats, food, and warm beds…
Everyone, please have a happy April!
Purrs and kisses to all,
Love, June
