Update for Chipper

Update for Chipper

Chipper may be overweight and have only three legs, but he is amazingly agile and active, as we have learned this past month.

The first hint we had was when several volunteers reported that Chipper was picking on Rose, one of his mates in the Special Needs Suite.
We kept a close eye on things and, sure enough, Chipper was doing some serious thrashing on poor Rose.

In fact, things got so bad that we decided we had to move Chipper to another suite, even though he would have to be separated from Sandy.
(We couldn’t move Rose because she needs the special diet we feed in the Special Needs Suite.)

So, we moved Chipper to Suite C, as we figured that the cats in there could handle him.
I am happy to report that Chipper has fit in just fine in the suite.
He is not picking on any of the others and they have accepted him as an equal.
Even better, neither Chipper nor Sandy seem to be disturbed by being separated

Of course, we kept a watchful eye on that suite for the first few days.
And, we were amazed when we saw that Chipper had managed to climb to the top of the platform!
I am astounded that he can do this, as each cube is 20″ high. I have tried to catch him in the act to see how he does it.
So far, I have been unsuccessful, but I am determined to see this feat.

I have also been unable to get a photo of him perched on the platform, but I am still working on it.
Instead, I have included a shot of him resting in one of the “kitty couches” we have placed in each suite.
If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to clue you in on how he does this next month and show you a photo.
