Hello, friends!
Hip hip hooray for long July days of baking myself in the solarium’s summer sunshine! I hope you enjoy the picture I’m attaching of me chillin’ outside with one of my best buds, Wolfie
. Although I do tend to spend most of my time outside, I must say this past month has brought new and fun viewing inside as well. We in Suite FIV+ had a front row seat to big doings in the Lobby. First was our annual Kitten Shower, which celebrates the influx of kittens we always have this time of year. Folks considering adoption come in to meet everyone and bring a donated gift of food or litter for all the cats lucky enough to be here at Tabby’s Place. There were lots of new visitors who also enjoyed tours of our sanctuary. This was my favorite part of course because I got lots of extra company that afternoon!
Then the very next day, we got to watch the first-ever Cat Yoga session through our window into our Lobby, which was super interesting. Humans say yoga is relaxing, but it looked like an awful lot of work to me!
And I’ll also tell you some secret news… see, most of us here in Suite FIV+ are on prescription diets and there’s a sign on our door telling volunteers and visitors not to give us treats. However, sometimes folks don’t see that sign… I like to think that I can magically, silently convince the humans to ignore it. Anyway, somehow a bunch of contraband treats made it into our room and boy did we enjoy them! Our ever-attentive staff found a few leftovers that we missed, so our secret was out… but we were happy for those humans’ mistakes!
Despite this dietary indiscretion, my weight has been stable this month and I’ve been enjoying excellent health. My vet team is quite happy with my consistently formed stool, and life is good.
Oh, and this month starts our annual Linda Fund Matching Challenge here at Tabby’s Place. All donations go towards the emergency and specialty care of our neediest cats, which of course includes me and our other sponsorable, special needs cats. Donations will be doubled throughout the challenge, and you can find out more by going to our website at www.tabbysplace.org. Thank you for everything you do for me.
Peace, love, and purrs… Charlie
