Hello, my spectacular sponsors!
As you can see from my picture, I’m more than ready to spring ahead into Spring this month!
I guess that’s because I had a bit of a difficult month, I’m sad to report. My ever-attentive vet team found that several of my teeth needed to be extracted. They followed that surgery up with antibiotics, plus a probiotic to combat the tummy-troubling side effects of those antibiotics. But, alas, my stomach didn’t cooperate, and I had an instance of vomiting. This also caused a low blood glucose (BG) level, which can be dangerous for diabetic kitties like myself.
Fortunately, my beloved vet team caught my low BG, and they are now testing my BG twice a day for awhile to ensure that I’m stabilized again. I feel so very lucky to be this well cared for. In fact, I feel like an honorary luck-of-the-Irish-man during this month of St. Patrick’s Day.
We also had another sad loss this month. My suitemate Pyewacket lost his brave battle with cancer. Although he was not always his best self with other cats, I of course counted him as a friend, and I’ll miss him.
We have also welcomed two new friends into our suite. I’m getting to know McNulty and Amos slowly. More on them next month.
In other news, I’ve officially been surpassed as the largest resident in Suite FIV . Pound for pound, that honor now belongs to my buddy Wolfie. I know there have been many good-natured jests about my weight among staff and volunteers, and I don’t really mind. But perhaps the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been enjoying in NJ has turned my subconscious kitty mind to thoughts of my furry beach bod goal?
Thank you for keeping me in good shape through your generosity. I hope this update finds you happy to spring forward!
Love, peace, and purrs,
Charlie
