Happy almost spring, people!
Although this New Jersey winter has been shockingly warm at times with a blessed lack of snow, I’m still psyched for the official and permanent warmer weather to head our way. I’m looking forward to the extra hour of daylight so I can chill in the solarium and feel that ever-warmer breeze through my fluffy grey fur.
My focus on the future comes from having a less than stellar month when it comes to my health. I’ve had some tummy troubles over the past while, with several instances of vomiting and diarrhea. No fun. But, my super fantastic vet team has put me on a course of antibiotics and anti-nausea medication to help me feel better as quickly as possible. My diarrhea is still troubling me a little, but I’m feeling better each day, and I know I’m getting the best care possible. I’m also determined to keep thinking positively, because I know that a hopeful attitude about the future is important.
My vet team is also concerned about what they’ve termed my “rather voluminous” amount of peeing I do overnight. See, I’m currently crated overnight, because I get diabetic-safe food. This also allows my urine output to be measured, since I have my very own litter box. Since excessive peeing can indicate poor blood glucose (BG) control in diabetic kitties, the vet team will be conducting a BG curve on me to make sure all is well.
And now some enormously fabulous health news: my teeth are apparently in great shape, so I am officially off the hook for my annual dental. I get to skip a year! Wahoo!
So, please send your love to my gastrointestinal system this month, and I’m sure I’ll feel better soon.
I’m currently attempting to befriend my new roomie Rogue, who joins our FIV+ crew as the only girl aside from my bud of many years, Mona. Rogue is a bit of a loose
cannon so far. She’s extremely sweet one minute, but in the next, she can kinda freak out without warning. And, Lordy, she lets out screams that can shake the paint off the walls! Whew. But I know she just needs my big grey self to be her new bestie, and she’ll be right as spring rain in no time.
Thank you for all that you do for me!
Peace, love, and purrs…
Charlie
