I hope your August has been filled with absolute awesomeness all the time! I’ve been spending all my time outside in our solarium, as usual, and let me tell you, it is quite toasty here in Ringoes, NJ. We’ve had many 90-degree-plus days and many thunderstorms that send me and my fellow sunbathers running for cover, barely escaping the rain showering in through the solarium fence.

All of this nonsense makes for humidity to beat the band…and for those of us with fuzzy fur to spare, well, let’s just say I’ve loaned several large tufts to my scribe as she writes this month’s update with me. She’s sweating so profusely that my free-flying fuzz is sticking to her like glue, instead of floating aimlessly about like it usually does. She has so much of my fur attached to her after petting me on her lap for a while, she looks like she’s trying to dress up as my sizable grey self for a costume party.

As you can see from this month’s picture, I’m totally hogging her lap like I always do, and not sharing with any of my roomies, even though they are milling about next to us, jockeying for a turn. You know I am the most laid back dude in town, but when it comes to human snuggling, every lap is my lap, no matter the day or the weather. Sweaty human laps are my favorite, although to be completely straight up here, any and all types of human laps are my favorite. Why in the world would I let a mere second of snuggle time be stolen by any of my furry roomies? So here we sit, my scribe and I, stuck to each other with a combination of sweat and fur that just makes us even more bonded than we already are.

I’ve been enjoying another healthy, stable month here, thanks to you, and I’m basking in the joys of the August heat along with the rest of the solarium squad. And an extra special thank you for helping this year’s Linda Fund to become the most successful in the history of Tabby’s Place. Our sponsors and donors have raised at least $34,000 more than last year’s all-time record, and those funds will all go towards life-saving emergency and specialty care for cats like our Special Needs crew, which includes me.
