Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot friends,

Carrot is getting ready for Christmas. He hung his stocking, and he’s been a really good boy all year, so he’s hoping Santa Paws will bring him lots of good stuff. He’s been dreaming of new toys, lots of treats, and maybe some good catnip to roll in. Carrot is always such a good boy, so I’m sure he won’t be disappointed. He even did a holiday photo shoot! I think he had fun posing for the camera with all the holiday decorations.

Our little love is the king of Christmas at Tabby’s Place. By the time you get this update, a Christmasy photo of Carrot will grace the Tabby’s Place home page. He’s also headlining a special press release about our Gift Catalog. I hope the fame doesn’t go to his head!

Carrot’s pimply chin has cleared up nicely, so we’ve discontinued his scrubbing. However, Carrot’s diarrhea seems to be increasing in frequency. We’re reluctantly considering relocating him to Suite A (where he’d potentially benefit from a prescription diet). We’ll only do this if necessary, since Carrot is deeply happy in Suite B — but, then again, we have a feeling Carrot can do “happy” anywhere. And in Suite A, he may just fall hopelessly in love with Rose.

It turns out Carrot’s skepticism of newcomers to his room is sometimes justified. Carrot usually freaks out when a new cat joins his room, but in the case of Randy he actually had a reason to be concerned. Once Randy had settled into Suite B, he started a reign of terror on most of his roommates. Randy would bully and fight with many of the cats in the room. Carrot started hanging out in the solarium most of the time (thank goodness it’s been very mild weather). Luckily, Randy’s stay in Suite B was short lived, as he was adopted this week to be an only cat. He’s fabulous with humans, he just doesn’t get along with the other cats — so this was a blessing for Randy and the cats in Suite B. I personally think all the cats in Suite B got together and paid his adoption fee to get him out of their room.
So, once again, Suite B is a happy place to be.

Carrot’s bladder is much easier to express these days. I think that is a combination of the new medication to relax his bladder, and Carrot getting more used to us expressing him.

Well, that’s all the Carrot news for now. Carrot and everyone at Tabby’s Place would like to wish you a wonderfully happy holiday. Because of you, Carrot can have a great holiday, where he is cared for, loved and safe.
