On a quiet balmy afternoon in December, with not a snowflake in sight, Buddy and most of the FIV gang (Pyewacket, Lester, Newman, Charlie and Wolfie) dug into my bag of tricks and treats. They found an empty plastic container. The old truism that kids and cats would much rather play with the box than the toy rang true. They batted the empty plastic container all over the solarium, one at a time, passing it back and forth. Cat toys, wands, mice, tree, catnip were of zero interest. The empty plastic container was the object of desire. No arguments or hissing or snipping, just a joyful game of pickup “bat the box around.”
So, it’s safe to say the holiday spirit is alive and well in the FIV+ Suite! Peace on earth, good will to cats.
Buddy’s health remains very good. There was a mystery bout of spraying this month, likely attributable to either Hocus or Buddy, but as usual, our handsome little man said “What? Me? I’m just hangin’ with my main men, watching the world go by.”
What a joy to know him, love him and occasionally be blessed with the chance to pet his sweet head and soft belly.
